50 years of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s dream
Fifty years ago today, one of the greatest orators of modern times delivered his most impassioned plea.
At the march on Washington, August 28th 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made his famous “I Have a Dream” speech. Rev. King spoke of his vision for an America in which all men, black and white, were treated equally; and one in which his children would be judged, not by the color of their skin, but by their character.Rev. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech has echoed around the world, unconfined by America’s borders, his vision of a just society for all has been an inspiration for five decades.
